Lone Survivor: It always seems rather sad to come across an orphaned tenement which has been left standing when all its neighbours have been demolished. Often, as is the case for this one on Keppochhill Road in Glasgow, the survivors have a pub on their ground floor and this was what saved it as it was deemed too expensive to buy out the licence for such premises.

Entrance to one of the townhouses on Lancaster Terrace in the west end of Glasgow. Built around 1875, their design has clearly been influenced by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's nearby Westbourne Terrace (constructed a few years earlier).

Das (alte) Schiffshebewerk Niederfinow (1934 in Betrieb genommen) liegt im 'Grenzbereich' zwischen Scheitelhaltung und Oderhaltung des Oder-Havel-Kanals.
Es überwindet die 36(!)m Höhenunterschied beider Punkte.

Erklärbärigkeit Ende.

Einfahrt in einen Trog eines Schiffshebewerkes. Ein Schiff ist beim Einfahren, links und rechts viel Stahl, Nieten, Schrauben. Mittig eine Brücke mit Kabine.
Gedämpfte Farben. Struktur.

This is one of my favourite views of Glaagow University. It's from the Hamiltonhill Claypits Nature Reserve on the Forth and Clyde Canal in the north of the city.
