For #MusicWomenWednesday this week, I've got another preview of this week's show. But instead of the usual youtube link to a live version of the song, I've got a link to where I first heard the song, in the film American Pop. Stayed tuned afterwords for an awesome version of Pretty Vacant as well...
Pat Benatar - Hell Is For Children
Raffaela Raab ("the militant vegan") is a controversial vegan activist from Austria
The title of this song means "Don't do to others what you don't want to be done to yourself" and I'll soon upload my #BlackMetal cover version here
Chorus means:
I hope you'll be in the chick culling machine
There's still room for you in the gas chamber
Our feast on the murderer's plate
Tastes freshly of your death cry
I'm psyched to hear the rest of Baltimore, Maryland pandemic-formed band JIVEBOMB's debut LP 'Ethereal' that comes out March 28. Vocalist Kat Madeira angrily rips and roars her way through these 3 preview tracks-- I mean, damn. THIS is the stuff I'm here for.
Jivebomb's third single, 'Seraphim (Marina's Song)' just came out today, and I'm pretty confident the rest of this LP will be killer when it releases in two weeks. Perfect for today's #MusicWomenWednesday.

For #MusicWomenWednesday whatever happened to Indica? They had some fun songs, but I have not heard about them for some time.
ICYMI there's a new Blackwater Holylight EP coming up next month but you can already listen to three tracks out of four and pre-order it in Bandcamp.

Acoustic songs have their own magic. I should listen to them more often. That's just beautiful :-)

This is the UK Eurovision entry from Remember Monday - I think I’m in love!
I think for #MusicWomenWednesday I want to bring back a pop-rock classic from my teens that almost single-handedly reclaimed and redefined a word which, up to that time, was one of the worst insults you could say to a woman into a term of empowerment.
Hearing a woman proudly describe herself by it, and reducing it to just one out of a myriad of self-contradictory titles, denuded it off its power to oppress in a very powerful way.

while looking for Egyptian Metal last week for #MittwochMetalMix and #MusicWomenWednesday I also found this great band from Lebanon,

For Music Women Wednesday, let's go with my favorite Dreamcatcher song of all time - In the Frozen. https://song.link/us/i/1701075768
It's Music Women Wednesday and I'm going with a song that popped in my head earlier this morning.
Da Brat "Funkdafied"
#MusicWomenWednesday Discogs published a few days ago an article to highlight the role of women in pioneering electronic music and it's a great read!

This week for #MusicWomenWednesday, I want to highlight an indie duo who have been described as The White Stripes meets The Black Keys. Lindsey Troy howls like some of the best blues rockers and the drummer Julie Edwards can only be described as raucous sex personified.
