am going to say this to all the knee-jerking fauxnarchist #ReplyGuys out there just waiting to jump at any opportunity to own the libs:

SHUT THE FUCK UP

the vast majority of the Reagan/Bush/Cheney lackeys have been behind Trump SINCE HIS DAYS OF TROLLING OBAMA ABOUT HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

#MAGA IS #REAGANISM.

you come to my mentions to minimize this truth so you can say the Democrats are the real fascists?

GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THAT A-HISTORICAL BULLSHIT

The signs: a recent account with few followers and few independent responses.

#ReplyGuys follow popular accounts & hitchhike off their followers to spread their malign messaging, hoping to go viral.

They coattail off popular accounts to drown out the original post.

They often work in teams with other sock puppet accounts to parrot their narratives or sea lion the popular account.

Just as Germans were flooded with Nazi messaging using cheap radios & antisemitic broadcasts, a...

@alice Caltrops are a weapon of war, an ancient denial of area war weapon, deployed strategically to passively slow down the opposition's advance. It's used by government agents on the battlefield and online. If you are using a caltrop online, you are accidentally or deliberately utilizing a psyop weapon to suppress the fight against hate and injustice. Don't be a tool of fascism.

There's a type of reply-guy that crawls out of the woodwork when I post anything that might inspire others to take action, and they're deceptively insidious.

Regardless of the topic, they sound like this:

Alice: I don't own a gun because they're for killing and I'm not a fan of killing.
Bob: Then only the bad guys will have guns.

Alice: I deleted my Facebook account.
Bob: If the good people leave then the bad guys win.

Alice: I'm openly queer so others know they're not alone.
Bob: You'll make yourself a target.

In every instance, they defend the shitty state of things by discouraging action and change. It's a reply that is designed to support the default, the current power structure. It's a type of reply meant to de-fang movements.

I've posted about this before, but apparently it bears repeating. Fighting for something takes energy. Change takes sustained energy and momentum. These types of interactions sap energy. They're not posting anything openly disagreeable, they're just dropping little doubt caltrops, little concern anchors—making it harder to keep fighting, harder to gain momentum.

If you're about to jump into a thread and concern troll, don't. I'm fucking sick of it. The rest of us don't have the time or energy to drag your dead weight along.

I posted a picture of Poppy in a greyhound group on Facebook.. the picture of her with the octopus hat on.

A guy responded saying "this is why dogs bite people".

I looked at his Facebook account, and the entire thing is written from the pov of his dogs, in a baby-voice with deliberate misspellings:
"Hesloo everyboody. Gracie here.
I was grumpy today.
I took breakfast in the conservatory this morning.
Peanut butter toast was served to me."

I've had dogs for 35 years (51 years if you count the dogs we had when I was a kid), and I've literally never once been bitten. I was bitten by a strange dog in a car park when I was 7 years old... that's it. Because I know what I'm doing.

Meanwhile, you're feeding your greyhound toast and good-os, and using them for social media clout.

We're not the same.

This is why your kids don't call anymore, Richard.

One thing that pisses me off about #ReplyGuys is their unshakeable smug sense of rightness, where nothing you say to them that will change their mind about what they think of your post

So they just turn up in your replies, display their cuntitude and act like they've won some sort of victory like that chess playing pigeon in the Christianity meme

I should be thankful there is a load of computer circuitry and software between us. Imagine meeting them in real life! They seem like a real gem!

Referring to me as "it" because I point out that you're mansplaining is a dehumanisation tactic.

Using "it" to describe an Aboriginal person is anti-Indigenous, and especially gross to describe a queer and trans Aboriginal person.

Dehumanising people who have less socio-political power than you is toxic and a further extension of your oppressive behaviour.

Talking about how you "hope it gets the help it so desperately needs" is ableist sealioning.

You're just proving my original point, my guy.

Also, it's just boring at this point.

Ok #ReplyGuys this post is going wild. A 🧵 :

- I recycle, because in the mist of nothingness, we all cling onto something.

- recycleability of plastic: it doesn't matter, because 1) recycling is a matter of policy and of energy (no, it isn't cost-free) 2) the injection of new plastic outnumbers and it's faster than the recycling process. Focusing on the material properties isn't enough
