Hello “Mast”ers,
Is there way for users to setup translation for posts to preferred language in Mastodon?. In my case, my preferred language is English and I would like for an option at the bottom or in the ellipsis to translate it on request. This way we would have access to more streams of thoughts and perspectives without the confines of the language. Is it just about tweesecake enabling it?
Translation is accessibility too.

@RamAnA11y This depends on your instance, yes. If they have set up translating then it will show a "translate" button.
E.g. this what it looks like on Mastodon.de:
@RamAnA11y Sorry, apparently this is part of base Mastodon now (see https://fedi.tips/is-there-a-built-in-language-translation-system-on-mastodon/), adjusted my post accordingly.
@RamAnA11y
"I happen to believe that it needs to be enabled at the instance admin level"
Yes, this needs to be set up by the admins. (Or be included directly in your client)
@max I checked. While I have another account with mastodon.social which allows Translate as long as you have set a preferred language tweesecake.social does not have that setting. Can @mods please enable #translation for this site if possible ?
@RamAnA11y Hi there, for sure. We can check this out.
@mods thank you. Looking forward to this being enabled.
@RamAnA11y This requires the other person to have the correct language set, as well. If someone is posting in the same language that is set as your default, the translate option won't show - no matter what they write. @max @mods
Not sure how much that helps you: That functionality
Somewhere between mastodon.radio server and my F-Droid Tusky app (on Google-free Android), it just works.
